Choose the market and search opportunity

Start with the customer and commercial decision. Estimate reachable demand, competitive intensity, product-market fit, margin, fulfillment feasibility, and the team’s ability to support the language and market. Search volume alone does not make a market attractive.

Map customer questions across discovery, comparison, purchase, setup, and support. Separate global concepts from market-specific terminology, regulations, channels, prices, and objections.

  • Target customer and search journey
  • Commercial value and contribution potential
  • Local competitors and search-result formats
  • Operational ability to fulfill the promise

Design a durable international site structure

Choose a consistent URL model such as country-code domains, subdomains, or subdirectories. The decision should account for governance, technical ownership, brand authority, analytics, and the ability to maintain each market over time.

Make language and region relationships explicit. Each page should use a self-referencing canonical, valid language-market annotations where applicable, crawlable navigation, and a visible market selector that does not depend on forced redirects.

Localize intent, proof, and conversion

Translate the customer problem and decision context, not just the source text. Adapt keywords, examples, currency, units, imagery, delivery information, returns, social proof, and calls to action. Preserve claim review and product truth across versions.

Run technical and editorial QA with a local reviewer. Check indexability, metadata, headings, internal links, structured data, checkout paths, mobile behavior, and support content before submitting pages for discovery.

Operate and measure by market

Create a market-level dashboard for indexed pages, qualified impressions, non-brand clicks, landing engagement, conversion, revenue quality, and assisted outcomes. Segment by query intent, device, page type, and acquisition market.

Maintain a content and localization backlog based on evidence. Consolidate overlapping pages, refresh declining assets, and stop publishing variants that the team cannot keep accurate.
